Feeding from your hand to the pet is a good way of bonding to the animal as well. A bond is a form of trusting for the animal therefore the animal must trust that you will not hurt it or that you are no threat to it. By allowing, the pet to eat from your hand a special treat you also trust that the animal will not hurt you by biting you. If the pet will eat from your hand then you know your bond is being, created.
Make sure the food or treat is a special thing not usually given to the animal. This will also help with the bonding the pet will soon learn that your hand means something pleasant. The next thing that you can do to bond with a pet is to take the pet along. Take the animal on car rides, walks, or if the pet is large then you can simply go and sit with the pet and talk softly to it. This will let the animal know that you want to spend time with it.
The pet will soon come to understand that you want to be close to it and that you care for it for all of its needs. Time is important to a pet and a great way to keep the both of you occupied. Another great way to bond with a pet is to play with the animal. You can easily find a favorite toy or activity that the pet likes to do.
Play can be simply sitting and playing with a favorite toy, letting the pet run at an animal park, or if the pet is larger like a horse then you can let the horse play with horse toys while you participate. All of these activities are bonding methods and they will work to build a great bond with any pet. All it takes is some time and a- lot of patients and you will build a great relationship between the two of you for many years to come.
